Privacy And Policy

PRIVACY POLICY

Effective Date: 12/10/2023

Your use of www.FateWonder.com and the associated Astrology and Nameology service (“FateWonder”) requires you to submit personal information – although we would not require it if we could do without it. Fortunately, we care about your privacy and keep your information confidential as much as reasonably possible.

This privacy policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. Please, ensure you read it (along with our Terms of Use) before proceeding to creating an account. By ticking the consent box and using FateWonder, you agree to how we use your personal information. If you do not agree, you should refrain from using FateWonder (or withdraw your consent by closing your account if you’ve already consented).

About us

FateWonder office is located in Sacramento, California, USA. We are responsible for controlling how your information is handled, including the information transferred to third parties as part of our services. If you have any issues, concerns, inquiries, or questions regarding this privacy policy or FateWonder, you can get in touch with us at support@FateWonder.com.

The information we collect and its use

We collect the information that may be used to identify you (personal information) and non-identifying information (anonymous or hashed information) when you access and use certain features on FateWonder. Depending on the service you request – whether automated naming, consultation, and voting – we may collect the following categories of information:

·        Registration information: This applies if you create an account on FateWonder. The information you submit may include your email address, first and last names, and password. We collect this information to create an account for you, give you access to certain services, personalize your use, and communicate with you. You are not mandated to provide us with any personal information on FateWonder except that you may not be able to access some of the services.

·        Payment information: If you subscribe to any paid package on FateWonder, we will require you to provide us with payment method information. Your payment method information is submitted on the website but is received by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. They use your payment method information only to process your fees for the package you subscribe to. You can read about Stripe’s privacy policy here.

·        The information you provide about others: If you use our automated naming software, you may be required to provide information about other people, including the date of birth and their parents’ names. This information will help the software to analyze and evaluate the personality.

·        The information we collect automatically: We collect certain non-identifying information about your use of the website. This information may include your search terms, features accessed, duration of access, your traffic source, geolocation, IP address, and device information. As mentioned, this information is mostly anonymous and is collected through Google Analytics, a third-party tool by Google Inc. for gathering usage and analytics information for marketing purposes (see below).

·        Information from your social media profiles: If you sign in to FateWonder with any of the social media plugins (Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn plugins), we will obtain the information you have on the applicable social media plugin – subject to your privacy settings – to create a FateWonder account. We provide this feature to make your account creation process seamless.

Other uses of your information

In addition to the uses of your information described in the section above, we use the information we collect about you to:

·        Fulfill your subscription and deliver the service you ordered;

·        Enable two-way communication between us, including responding to your inquiries, sending you administrative notices, receiving your feedback, etc.;

·        Enable you to seamlessly navigate around the website and access the features smoothly;

·        Remember your inputs, login credentials, and search terms for when you come back to the website;

·        Enable us to identify how users use FateWonder and use it to launch our marketing campaigns;

·        Comply with legal requirements and enforce our Terms of Use;

·        Detect fraud and other illegal activities;

·        Secure FateWonder; and

·        Perform any other purpose we disclose at the time of collection.

Cookies and other technologies

What Cookies are: We use cookies, pixels, beacons, and similar tracking technologies (“Cookies”) on the website and our content. Cookies are pieces of information and invisible graphics that website owners embed on their visitors’ web browsers and devices to track their movements on the websites, gather user behaviors and preferences, secure the website, remember user logins, and so on.

Why we use Cookies: With respect to FateWonder, we use Cookies primarily for the following reasons:

·        To store your login credentials and remember you when you come back to the website;

·        To save tokens;

·        To enable messages between pages;

·        To track user inputs and preferences;

·        To save other features, such as your language settings;

·        To prevent one user from voting twice in our voting system; and

·        To secure the website and monitor violations of our Terms of Use.

Third-party Cookies: Since we use third-party service providers, such as Stripe and Google, they also set Cookies on our website and their tools to perform their services. These Cookies are referred to as “Third-Party Cookies” because they are set by these third parties. For example, Google uses Cookies to enable Google Analytics to gather anonymous usage and analytics information on our behalf.

How long Cookies last: Cookies can last for a browsing session or for extended periods depending on if the Cookie is a “session” or “persistent” Cookie. Session Cookies expire when you close your browser, while persistent Cookies have their expiry dates and do not expire as sessions Cookies do.

How to control Cookies: You can control how Cookies are used on your browser. You can choose to reject Cookies or simply select the types you want to be activated. This setting is within the “settings” section of your device browser. Please be informed that if you reject any Cookie, the function it performs may become unavailable to you.

Third-party APIs

We use tools and APIs that are developed by third parties (for example, Google Analytics), which we use to provide some of the FateWonder services. Google Analytics is an analytics gathering API that allows Google to understand how visitors and users behave on FateWonder. You can opt out of Google Analytics from tracking your behaviors by downloading the Google Analytics Opt-Out extension on your browser at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/

The disclosures of your information

We do not disclose personal information about you to third parties except under the circumstances described below.

Disclosures to service providers

We hire third parties (entities) for some of the features and functions on FateWonder. These third parties – including without limitation, Stripe, Google, GoDaddy, and Amazon – help us with services, such as payment processing, analytics gathering, hosting, and data storage through our website and their websites, and they may need personal information to provide their services (for example, to process your credit/debit card payments, Stripe needs your card information). Please note that these third parties have a duty to only use your information only for the purpose we hire them.

Disclosures to advertising partners

We work with advertising companies, ad agencies, and analytics service providers that may require us to share the automatic information and usage and analytics information we have gathered anonymously about you to help us target you with our ads and other ads on FateWonder and across other platforms (for example, we share anonymous information about user IP Address’ geolocation and user behaviors to enable them to send ads that match the user’s preference).

You can opt out of interest-based or behavioral adverts by accessing http://optout.aboutads.info (if you are within the EU, visit https://www.youronlinechoices.eu). Please note that opting out of interest-based adverts only stops adverts that are based on your interests and behaviors across the internet, it does not stop generic adverts.

Disclosure to marketing companies

We may disclose personal information – your email address and name specifically – to third-party companies for them to directly advertise their services to you. You will have the option to opt out of any third-party marketing by using the unsubscribe instructions in any of the emails they send to you.

If you are a California consumer (user), the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) provides you with the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information to another entity for their marketing purposes. Please, click on the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link at the website footer to make an opt-out request.

Disclosures to law enforcement

We comply with legal requirements – we may share personal information with government agencies in response to legal requests by public authorities, including to meet law enforcement requirements or national security. We cooperate with any private or public offices and law enforcement officials to enforce the law, including when we are required to respond to claims and legal processes, such as subpoenas and summonses. We also work with other parties at our sole discretion if such a corporation will help us to protect our rights and property or those of our users or third parties, or if we believe the disclosure is necessary to prevent an end an activity that is (or pose a risk of being) illegal, unethical, fraudulent, or legally actionable.

Disclosures under a business transfer

We may disclose personal information in any event that involves transferring a portion or all of our business, including a merger, acquisition, consolidation, sale of assets, or bankruptcy.

Disclosures at your consent

In other instances, we may disclose personal information for any purpose after you have given us verifiable consent.

Email Communication Policy

Upon registering a user profile on our website with a valid email address, you enable us to utilize this address for several essential and supplementary services. In addition to using your email for password recovery and updating you on the status of your requested products and services, we also employ email communication for the following purposes:

Promotional Offers: We periodically send out promotional emails about our services. These emails may contain special offers, discounts, or information about new services that might be of interest to you.

Scheduling Consultation Services: For those interested in our consultation services, email serves as a key communication tool. We use it to schedule, confirm, and make any necessary adjustments to your consultation appointments.

Our monthly newsletters, along with these additional emails, are designed to enrich your experience with our services. We handle all email communications through our secure servers, ensuring your privacy and data security. We do not engage in personal tracking of email activities.

Each newsletter and promotional email includes an easy-to-find unsubscribe link, giving you the control to opt out of these communications at any time. While it is not possible to completely opt out of all email communications due to their integral role in delivering our services, we ensure that our communications are respectful of your preferences and valuable to your experience with us.

Information security

We employ commercially reasonable steps in keeping your information secure from unauthorized access and use. We encourage strong passwords and store your information on one of the best cloud servers, AWS. However, be aware that no method of information security on the internet is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee that it will always be safe.

Our data retention policy

Except you ask us to delete your personal information, we will retain your registration information with us for as long as your account is active. We will retain the information you submit when you use our automated naming software (the generated PDF) for 1 year. However, we may retain personal information in backup for continuity even if you request that we delete it.

Transfer of information internationally

FateWonder is operated in the United States where we majorly process the information you provide us. However, we may transfer personal information to third-party service providers in locations outside of the United States and the country in which you provide the information, whose privacy laws may not be as adequate as your location laws. However, we will always only enter into agreements with third-party service providers who practice adequate privacies. These agreements may include, where relevant, the use of Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children policy

Only adults (people over 17 years of age) may create an account, submit personal information, and use FateWonder. If you are below 18 years of age, you may only use FateWonder under the supervision of at least a parent or legal guardian. FateWonder is targeted at new babies, but we do not collect the information directly from kids, babies, and minors (according to your location law).

You have certain rights in addition to the other rights already described under this privacy policy. You can request to edit and change any information you provide by using the edit function under your account, or where possible, reaching out to us at support@FateWonder.com.

You also have the right to ask us to delete the information we hold about you. This request can be made by reaching out to us at support@FateWonder.com.

To exercise this right, click on the “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link on the website and provide the required information. Please, note that we may verify that you are a California user before granting this request.

Do Not Track signals

A Do Not Track signal is a browser feature that allows you to transmit a signal that your online behavior not be tracked by the website owner. Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we are required to disclose if we respond to Do Not Track signals or not. Unfortunately, the Do Not Track is inconsistent among industry participants at this moment. Therefore, we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine the Light” law provides you with the right, as a California user, to request once per calendar year the types of personal information we have collected and shared with third parties for their direct marketing, as well as the names of those third parties. You can make this request by reaching out to us at support@FateWonder.com.

Additional right to Nevada users

Nevada users have an additional right to opt out of the sale of their personal information to a third party for money consideration and for the third party to sell it or rent it to additional third parties.

If you can verify that you are a Nevada-based user, you reach out to us at support@FateWonder.com to exercise this right.

(iii)               we need the information for our legitimate interest (for example, where we collect usage and statistics information to analyze usage trends and improve FateWonder).

In addition to the rights under this privacy policy, users under the GDPR have the following rights:

Third-Party Links

Some portions of FateWonder may contain links, adverts, and content from third parties (“Third-Party Links”). The existence of such Third-Party Links does not represent that this privacy policy governs their privacy practices. When you access any Third-Party Links to a third-party platform, your submission of personal information will be governed by the respective third parties’ privacy policies.

Updates to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at any time – subject to changes to our privacy practices or any applicable law.
